“I was in shock and I started thinking that I couldn’t deal with that. I told Sean I couldn’t handle it and that I wasn’t going to do this with him…” I blush as I remember his reaction and peek at my sister. Her face says she understands. “But, then… we were making out. I was on his lap and things got… ugh… intense.” Roman coughs and pulls at his collar. I smirk slightly and look around. Daisy is nodding along with me while Fannie and McKenzie are wide-eyed and staring at me with rapt fascination. I keep going. “Um, the security team needed to get us away from the cameras, so they took us to my place.”

Fannie gasps and McKenzie squeaks. “You brought him to your house?!”

Nodding, I blush. “Yeah, I had already told them I wanted to show the house to Sean after the zoo, but then we needed someplace to go to lay low for a bit. So, they just took us there.”

Roman nods. “I told them to.” That gets my attention and I look at him with a question. He smiles. “I know. But, you’re right, bringing you both back here right after that… it would have been impossible. You’re place was perfect. It’s out of the way, but safe and the team was with you.”

Shaking my head, I chuckle. “Yeah, well, we were safe. I got Sean settled with Mrs. Raina and then I went to call Jake… He, uh… he sent me the link to the story.” Everyone gasps.

Daisy’s hands cover her mouth. “Ohhhh, no….”

I nod. “Oh yeah… That was fun. Anyway, so I explained that I was with Sean and that it was a first date. It got pretty complicated and he asked if I was going to date both of them and then make a choice…”

Fannie’s eyes widen and she yelps, “Dear Lord… What did you say to that?!”

Daisy is leaning so far forward, I’m scared she’s going to fall off the couch.

McKenzie’s mouth is hanging open. Finally, she asks, “Well, what did you say?”

I just stare at my three best friends and our manager. Before I can answer, a knock comes through the door. Everyone just sits there.

Finally, Roman jumps up. “Hold that thought. Be right back. I need to see what this is.”

He walks out of the sitting room and heads to the door.

Daisy, Fannie, and McKenzie are all staring at me in breathless anticipation.

  Sean

What am I going to find when this door opens? Am I going to be welcomed or shunned?!

I’m in the hallway in front of Roman’s suite along with Rafe, Xavior, Russ, and Gavyn. We had a band pow wow as soon as we arrived. I was pulled into Gavyn’s room while Summer was accosted and taken into Roman’s.

We didn’t even have a chance to say a word to each other.

I filled the guys in on what transpired today and Rafe let me know that Daisy is not very happy with him. Not that he blames her. I apologized and said I take full responsibility.

He punched me and said that was stupid and that he was there as well and that he had been with the women. The same as me. We’re both responsible and no one could have predicted some unhinged woman we’d both had sex with was going to find us at the zoo today and ruin Summer and I’s first date.

The guys wanted to know if there was a Summer and I and then I had to fill them in on the shortened version of the afternoon’s events. I didn’t give them the details because I don’t want to disrespect Summer like that.

Rafe read between the lines though and as we were leaving the room to head out here, he slid up beside me and muttered, “So, you and Summer? Good?”

I nodded and mouthed, “Yup. Yup.” He fist bumped me and here we are.

Gavyn and Roman have been talking all afternoon and are trying to figure out the best way to market this…

I knock again and only stop when I hear the footsteps on the other side of the door. Roman opens it and glares at me for a minute before he sighs and opens the door. “Come in. The girls are all in the sitting room.” He moves as I walk past him and I don’t miss the slight rebuff.

I get it, man. I get it.

Once we’re all in, he leads us into the suite. We follow him and as we near the back, I try to look around him to catch a glimpse of Summer.

Walking into the sitting room, I feel all eyes on me. Daisy’s are a little hard. Fannie and McKenzie both just stare with no expression. Ignoring all of them, I look at Summer. Her cheeks pinken as she looks at me. I smile and she smiles back.

The three girls don’t appear to miss the smiles. They look from me to Summer and at each other.

Finally, Roman crosses the room and sits in the empty spot beside Summer. The spot I was eying. Rafe goes to stand beside Daisy and reaches for her hand. She takes it.

Xavior takes the side of the loveseat opposite Fannie and Russ stands near the window. Gavyn takes an empty chair and I’m left standing there like a jackass as I just look at Summer.

Finally, I just sit on the damn floor. Roman nods and looks back at Summer. “Ok, so you were just about to fill us in on if you’re dating Sean and Jake or not?”

I frown and stare at her. She stares back as she says, “No, I’m not dating Sean and Jake. I’m only dating one of them.”

Everyone is quiet in the room. Fannie asks, “Well, who are you dating?!”

Still looking at Summer, I answer for her. “Me. She’s dating me.”

She gasps and then smiles and nods shyly. “Yeah, I’m dating him.”

Damn, that just got quiet. But hey, it’s out. I said it out loud.

  I’m dating Summer.

  Chapter Thirteen

  Summer

After last night’s announcement, things kind of got a little crazy. Roman and Gavyn decided Sean and I needed to go public and spent hours determining what the best way to do that was.

We didn’t even really have a say. Which was fine. After yesterday, I was more than willing to let them hash out the details. The only bad thing was that I didn’t get to talk to Sean privately while we were all in the suite. And I really wanted to.

The managers determined, we’d just go public… no pomp and circumstance, like with the Blue Adams interview for Rock With Me with Daisy and Rafe. We weren’t going to make a formal announcement or anything, but when we were asked… and we would certainly be asked, we’d tell the truth.

I was ok with that. They spent the next hour making sure I could handle some of the backlash that the news would create. And again, as we learned with Daisy and Rafe… there will be backlash.

Some of Destiny Fades to Blue’s fans are not really all that willing to give up their men to anyone… even if they actually have no claim to them. Some of our fans are not as willing to accept the relationship between a country superstar and a rocker either. But, our label, Cypress Records, was on board with Daisy and Rafe and now… it appears that they’re ok with Sean and me, too.

If they weren’t we’d have to figure something out, but luckily they are welcoming the added publicity that us as a couple will create.

Because when country and rock get together… it means sales and headlines and that makes them money. It makes us money, too.

Once we were allowed to leave Roman’s suite last night though, the girls wanted to chit chat and get the scoop, so they followed me back to my room, where they stayed for several hours, and I filled them in on the condensed version of yesterday’s events.

By the time they left, I was ready to fall onto my face. Sean’s room was also quiet, so I never got to talk to him.

Now, I’m getting ready to check out of the hotel. We have a radio interview in two hours and then the concert tonight before we hit the road again right after.

I wanted to talk to Sean, but I’m not certain that I’ll have a chance before we once again have an audience.

I’m tossing my makeup into my bag and mumbling to myself when I hear the knock on the adjoining door.

Quickly checking my reflection in the bathroom mirror, I nod at myself and then race to flip the lock and open the door.

As the door opens, Sean barrels into the room and presses
me against the wall. I gasp, but before I can say anything, his mouth covers mine. His hands are on either side of my face as his lips nibble and cling to mine. I moan and weave my hands into his hair as his tongue slips past my lips. His tongue dances with mine until I’m boneless and breathless.

He breaks the kiss and leans back to smile at me. “Morning, sweetheart.”

It takes me a second to catch my breath enough to answer him. “Um, morning. That was quite a good morning kiss.”

He winks and my heart races. “I didn’t get a good night one after the interrogation last night, so I wanted to start the day with one.”

My brows draw together and I chuckle. “That was almost better than coffee…”

His pierced brow arches and he mock growls, “Almost better than coffee?! Almost?! You wound me…”

Sliding my hands down his neck and over his shoulders, I trace his pecs through the dark grey shirt. “Coffee and I have a very intense relationship… And I’ve only had one cup today…”

He laughs. “Are you all packed up?” We both look around. My suitcases are by the door. Nodding, I tap his arm. “Just need to grab my makeup from the bathroom and then, yes.”

He wrinkles his nose. “Ok, well maybe we can find some more coffee without being assaulted.”

I frown. “Shouldn’t we wait for everyone else to head down?” I can’t hold in the shudder that escapes me. “You know it’s going to be a madhouse down there.”

  It really will be.

First Daisy and Rafe… now me and Sean… and everyone is going to want to be the first one to have that official confirmation…

  Am I ready for this?!

Sean looks down at me and leans in. I exhale quickly before he kisses me lightly. It’s a small kiss. One meant to reassure. I never thought I’d have one like that from Sean.

He grins. “Sweetheart, I’m fucking Sean Scott… bad ass rocker. It’s always a madhouse.” He looks deep into my eyes and smirks. “Are you ready for my world?!”

  Am I?!

  Sean

I was joking with Summer, but there’s a lot of truth to what I just said.

I am a bad ass rocker who frequents the tabloids. My face is always plastered on the cover or interior of trash magazines and gossip columns. My world is a madhouse.

Is Summer ready to be a part of that?

Am I ready for her to be?!

Summer is staring at me with a mix of fear and excitement. She nods. “As ready as I’ll ever be, I guess.” She arches her brow and asks bluntly. “Are you ready to be linked with a certified country good girl?”

  I think I am…

I laugh and pull her close again. “I’m as ready as I’ll ever be to come out as being in a relationship with a woman that my momma will be proud of… I’m practically dating Taylor Swift! You know everything in me should be rebelling against this for no other reason that that one, right?!”

She slaps my shoulder and sticks her tongue out. “Yeah well… Taylor rocks. Waiting for my call to join her squad. It’s one of my life goals. And your momma would love it if you dated Taylor Swift!” My face must show my horror at those words, because she laughs.

“Um, no thank you. That chick is worse at relationships than I am! And I’ve never really had one! She can just stay with Loki for the allotted five minutes and then write a break up song while she falls in love in ten minutes again.” I shudder. As if I’d date T-Sweezy.

Summer frowns at me. “Don’t hate on Taylor. I think she’s in love with the idea of love and just wants so badly to find it…”

Why the hell are we talking about Taylor Swift right now?!

I nod, “Maybe you’re right. But, I honestly don’t care and I have no desire to date her. She seems fun though. Besides… I thought it was decided that I’m dating you. When you join her squad and become besties, I’ll meet her and get a photo for my momma, ok?! Until then, let’s not talk about Taylor and Loki or whoever she dates next and there’ll be a next… you know there will…”

She smirks at me and a chuckle escapes her. “Ok, deal. You are dating me and that reminds me…” She sobers. “I still have to call my momma about this…” Her eyes widen and she groans. “Oh, shit… I have to do that before we confirm this to anyone in the media, Sean. I need to call her now.”

My own eyes mirror hers. “Um, ok. Do you want me to leave you in private for that?! I can go back in my room…”

Smirking, she shakes her head. “Nope, I need you for moral support. You stay right here.”

She wants me in here when she tells her momma that she’s with me? Like that we’re dating? She’s not going to tell her momma that we’re sleeping together… is she?!

Her laughter breaks me out of my internal freak out. I glare at her as her eyes twinkle. “Your face…”

I groan. “Yeah, well. I’m not really the man that most parents dream about their daughters dating, Summer…”

She snorts and pulls me over to the bed with her. As we sit, the fact that I’m not even trying to come up with a way to get her naked is not lost on me.

She pulls me down beside her and then laughs as I sit stiffly on the edge. “Seriously, Sean. You’re acting like a virgin who’s scared of being seduced…”

I frown. “You’re calling your mother.”

“I am. And trust me… she’s not going to be that surprised…” Her voice is musical but her words have my undivided attention.

“What the hell do you mean?”

Shaking her head, she puts her finger over her lips and points to the phone. It rings and she says, “Listen.”

Then, she’s talking. “Hey, Momma… No, everything is ok… I was just calling… No… Oh, you saw that, did you?!… Yeah, Daisy is ok. She and Rafe are fine. That was in the past…. Well, she’s not happy, but what is she going to do?!… I know… That’s why I’m calling you… I am… We are… Sean… Yes, Sean Scott… He does have a lot of tattoos… A lot of those, too… No, momma, that’s not pierced… Oh my God… Please don’t say that around, Daddy!

  “Yes… Dating… We’re dating… It’s new… He’s right here… You want to what?! Are you serious?! Um, no… No, you cannot… Hold on.”

I’ve been listening to her side of the conversation and my spine froze when she just said that. She looks at me sheepishly and holds her hand over the speaker on her iPhone. “She wants to know if you have ever gotten a woman pregnant or if you have kids?!”

Her mother wants to know if I have any kids?!

Hell no, I don’t have any kids.

I blink and the color leaves my face as I shake my head emphatically. “No. No, I do not.” I stare at her and mutter, “I’ve only come in one woman without a condom, Summer… You… Yesterday.”

Her cheeks turn almost purple and she shakes her head. “No, he does not, Momma… I know… I am… I just wanted to tell you that… Yes, we have the interview today and then the concert tonight… Ok, I’ll tell her… Love you, too. I’ll call you in a couple of days… Yes, Ma’am… I know… I will… Bye.”

She hangs up and the phone bounces on the mattress. She looks over at me and her blush deepens as her hands cover her face and she groans. “She’s a crazy woman!”

What did her momma say? That sounded like it went well. Other than the “Do I have kids” question anyway.

Reaching over, I pull her hands away from her face and laugh as Summer flops back on the bed. I wasn’t expecting that, so I fall on top of her.

Her arms wrap around me and I settle against the apex of her thighs, on top of the skirt she’s wearing.

I instantly start to harden as she deliberately squirms against me. A moan escapes me as she creates a perfect friction.

Using my hands for support, I loom over her and press my cock more firmly against her. Her face shows her desire.

Grinning, I rub against her. “I thought you wanted coffee…”

Her hands slide down my back and cup my ass. She pulls me tighter into her before re
aching between us to open the fly of my jeans. As the material parts, she wraps her fist around me and pumps. “How about sex first and then coffee?” She glances at the bedside clock before looking back at me. “We have twenty minutes… Are you up for the challenge?”

She wants a quickie to start the day?

Am I up for the challenge?!

Glancing at her hand wrapped around my rigid cock, I raise my brow. “I think you know the answer to that, sweetheart. The only question is… can you handle me fucking you into oblivion and then walk out of here?!”

Her eyes light up and she releases my cock and pushes my pants to my hips before she raises her skirt and wriggles to take off her panties. When she slides them off her legs, she throws them in my face. “Let’s see…”

Nudging her legs apart with my knees, I settle against her. Her legs wrap around my hips and she guides me in. My eyes roll back in my head as I sink inside of her. She’s so wet.

I mutter, “Damn, sweetheart. I didn’t even touch you and you’re this wet for me?!”

She groans as her hips jerk to help me fuck her and she nods. “I am. I’m always like this for you, Sean. Just for you… I can’t help it.”

Masculine pride, and something else that I can’t define, fills me at her words. She’s not a liar or a woman who says what a man wants to hear, so I know she’s telling the truth.

She’s this turned on because of me… Sean Scott… the man… not the filthy rock star.

  Hell yes!

My hips slam against her. She stays right there with me. Every time I think it’s too much and I’m going to hurt her, she tightens around me and urges me on. I’m used to having to pace myself and holding myself back for fear of going too far or being too rough, but Summer is relishing it.

She seems to like my animalistic side.

  I moan, “If I hurt you… tell… me…”

Her knees tighten around me and she groans, “Not… hurting… me… More… I want it all… I can take it… Fuck me like you want to, Sean…”

My hands grab her hips and I pummel her. I can’t stop myself. I don’t know how I’m not hurting her. I’ve never fucked someone so hard in in my life. But, her gasps, moans, and groans are telling me she loves it.
